Wonderfull How did Soapworks evolve?

I am an MBA in Retail Management and used to work for an international bank. Post my marriage, I had to quit my job because my son was born with a disability called Down syndrome and needed my attention utmost for early intervention etc. After my son was about 4 years old I tried my best to get into a corporate job again but nothing really worked and I felt it was going to be the most difficult task ever. During this time, my mom, who was my pillar of support and strength passed away, and that created a huge impact on me emotionally. I spent a lot of nights sleepless and could not do anything. That’s when I sought help and decided to use those sleepless nights more productive. I had learnt the art of soap making formally few years ago in Sydney, Australia and decided to experiment on it. I read a lot of books and did extensive research on soap making and made several batches of soaps. After about 3 weeks I had made about 200 to 300 soaps and I did not know what to do with them. That’s when I created my social media profile for Soapworks and decided to sell them. To my utter disbelief, all my soaps were sold out in a week’s time and I had more and more people asking me for the same. Slowly I started getting busy and made a mark for myself.
Today I make a variety of soaps from butter soaps, milk and honey soaps, calendula soaps, avocado soaps etc. People have become more aware of the harmful effects of the chemicals these bigger MNCs use in their products are slowly turning to natural and organic. People love my soaps and I find joy and job satisfaction when people say their skin left vert good. Today, in a short span of 7 months, I have grown to an extent where I am in the process of registering soapworks into a limited company and taking it to the next level.

What all does the product line includes & what is your target audience?

I started off making cold process handmade soaps. Now, I have diversified and I make lip balms, lotion bars, shampoo bars and bath bombs.

Where can customers contact you/buy the products, any stores coming up and what are your expansion plans for the future?
I am currently working on my website and it should be up anytime in March 2016. In the meantime, I take orders on my Facebook page. I am also reachable at +917042514128. I have started to tie up with various beauty stores and supermarkets and have started to stock my soaps there. My future plan is to open a small unit and manufacture exclusive luxury bath and body products and provide employment opportunities to the people with disability. Being a mother of a child with disability, I realized that there is a huge potential in them and wish to use them to the fullest.

Any specific feature/USP which you would like us to mention particularly?
The USP of Soapworks would always remain the same and unchanged no matter what!! At soapworks, I make only handmade, chemical free soaps. All the products available at soapworks are 100% natural and paraben free and SLES free. Parabens and SLES are commonly used chemical agents used in almost all the bath and beauty products to enhance lather, shine etc. These are extremely harmful for the skin.
My USP is that I keep all my products 100% natural and chemical free. I use natural colorants like botanicals (indigo powder, arrowroot powder, spirulina powder) and micas, and for scenting my soaps I use essential oils and fragrances that are plant based and good derived. I source all my raw materials from USA.

In short, Soapworks, strives to the responsibility of creating out environment a better place to live in.

Our personal experience with Soapworks was brilliant. We ordered a few products, and the fragrance from them filled our office space. Consider us your regular customers from now on Harini!
